I digitally painted this photograph of a columbine flower in full bloom. The columbine's name derives from the Latin columba, meaning dove. The meaning of this flower is varied. Some believe it a symbol of foolishness, while others believe it a symbol of fidelity and holiness, and more modern meanings include seduction, anxious excitement and a strong will to win. These graceful flowers are a favorite of gardeners and can be found in wooded areas throughout the Northern Hemisphere. This piece would look fantastic as a canvas print.
